After the bed bug issue we were not compensated. I wanted to at least have them pay for my laundry because a hot dryer would fix the issue as that kills bed bugs. Nothing.
This place had a great location, I liked the location a lot. The place itself needs a lot of work. The place has been neglected. There was so much wrong I can't bring myself to list it all. Mind you, it wasn't like the place was filthy it just wasn't clean. Doors didn't open or close right, plumbing was iffy, there was an odor of smoke in the lobby and in general the place felt damp and sticky. Some of the staff were not overly helpful or friendly, but on the other hand some of them were. I think my brother in law said it best, "This is the most run down Super 8 that I've stayed at." But it was almost half the price of the other motel and it was only two nights so for the money savings we stayed at the swamp. We just didn't know it was a swamp when we booked it. If I had it to do over again we'd still probably go with the savings.
I would have taken my family (disabled husband, 16 & 3 yr old) out of there but sadly we had just became homeless and the last of our money went into staying at this place. Over $700.00 to stay and not a single penny discounted for dealing with 2 major bug pests.
Got a smoking room instead of non-smoking. The shower curtain rod was literally falling down. The blankets had holes in them. The room curtains were unattached on one end. It was dirty. But it was a convenient location.
Room smells badly of mildew. Front desk told me I was imagining it. Bugs flying around the drain Upon Our check-in. Front desk told me I must have let them in even though we'd only been there 20 minutes. Sheets were dirty and front desk told us they were out of sheets to change them. Vending machine took my money without registering I had put anything in and front desk basically just said "too bad". Every single jet in the hot tub is broken causing it to violently throw water all over the place. Conceal a footprint in the settelef dirt upon entering the hot tub. Mold on the bedspread, mold above the shower. Wish I could rate it lower
No refund of any kind, no free nights ... NOTHING!
We were happy with our stay. Nothing fancy or new feeling, however the firm bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast in the morning was good. We would stay there again.
Aside from the bugs, I do like this place. It's cozy, they have a pool & hot tub, that from what I saw was clean. Beds are clean I didn't find any more than the 1 bed bug which could have come from the room we moved from.

I wasn't going to say anything as I do like one worker there and she was very nice and helpful, all around she made that place better. However the management did NOTHING to compensate for finding a cockroach in our first room, then when we moved to another room after settling in, I discovered a bed bug on my pillow crawling away ... It feasted on either me or my husband as it was full of blood.
I just really wish we didn't discover the bugs, because I really do like this place - Hopefully they get them taken care of.
But yeah, the place needs to be updated badly ... the heater/a.c. in each room needs to be BADLY cleaned out. Windows need some cleaning as our 2nd room I had to drag the blow dryer out to defrost it so I could open it.
Like I said, there is one kind lady there who is really awesome but sadly it does not make up for the lack of care that's needed at this place.
Ok, for starters COCKROACHES and BED BUGS!!!
Breakfast each morning is good. It's close to a few fast food places Taco Bell, McDonald's, Burger King, Pizza Hut etc.
They said they were going to get the exterminator out there ... But seriously they need to offer more than nothing to a customer who may or may not be dragging these bugs home.
