The Minnesota Renaissance festival is among the best festivals I've been to. Their performers are impeccable, ranging from the Royal Court and the Fairy Court to the pickle vendors, Vikings, pirates, peasant and bawdy wenches. The shopping experience is like no other, be prepared to be amazed. Hand crafted pottery, glass and leather wares, hand made candles and paper (which the customer participates in creating) as well as clothing from the era. Join the fun as a fairy princess or a peasant wench. The variety of food is seemingly unending
This is a fun time. Get there early if the weather is nice as the parking can be brutal on busy weekends.
Great fun for the family! Can get busy and blasted hot, so try to plan accordingly. You don't have to dress up, but it's certainly more fun! Bring cash, don't wear sandals as it's prone to muddiness, and make sure to wear clothes you can walk in. Check the calendar online for theme weekends, as certain ones may be more appealing to you than others. The fairy forest is my personal favorite for a quick break from the crowds!
As a rule, the first 2 weekends are more lightly attended and Saturday is always busier than Sunday. Dress for being outside all day.
Amazing experience! Fun day for adults to get outside of your comfort zone and really enjoy yourself! Shows are fun to watch and my henna art is fabulous! Great food but expensive for sure.
Good place to spend the day with friends and eat comfort food. To really get into it you probably wanna dress up. I prefer the state fair personally because I'm not into the dressing up part.
